Bacchus 2023
-
Tasting notes: Bacchus is often compared to Sauvignon Blanc and in England can be highly spicy. Aromas of grapefruit, elderflower and Mediterranean herbs are all present, while the palate is crisp with tangy gooseberry flavours and a touch of white pepper.
Winemakers notes: An aromatic and herbaceous reflection of the 2023 vintage, this Bacchus is a more restrained expression of the normal notes with wonderful balance. The grapes were picked by hand in September 2023, then destemmed and pressed following a short time cold soaking. The must was then fermented cool in stainless steel. After fermentation, the wine was allowed to age for a short period on the fine lees before being bottled in Spring 2024. -
